Who are we?
We are a group of men and women who have banded together so that we can accomplish things for our local community which we, as individuals, could not achieve alone. We are all members of the World's largest service organisation - Lions Clubs International. We are just a few of the 1.3 million Lions in more than 160 countries and geographical areas.
How  do we raise funds?
Our Fundraising Committee plans a wide variety of events from band concerts to outdoor galas, all aimed at providing entertainment whilst, at the same time, raising funds to help local groups and individuals.
Why do we join?
The Lions motto is “We Serve” and all our members share a desire to serve those in need in the Retford area and farther afield..
What are the rewards?
Lions are ordinary people who attempt to work together to accomplish amazing things. They seek no reward other than the satisfaction of knowing that they have helped others. Occasionally, however, the community recognises the outstanding efforts of an individual. Such was the case when Past President John Battersby received the Bassetlaw Golden Jubilee Award for individual contribution to the community.
Our 30th Charter Anniversary
We hosted a very successful and enjoyable annual Charter Luncheon at the West Retford Hotel  on 27th June 2010.
Outgoing President Lion Shirley is pictured handing over to her successor, Lion Bruce.
